Carbon Black (CI 77266), a carbon-based pigment with extremely strong coloring power and covering ability. It exhibits a deep and stable black tone, providing significant color expression even at very low addition levels.

In cosmetic systems, carbon black is commonly used in eyeliners, mascaras, eyebrow makeup, and other dark-colored cosmetic products. It relies on its excellent color intensity and tone purity to achieve precise and stable black performance. Meanwhile, its stable particle structure, good light resistance, and chemical inertness help enhance the long-lasting performance of black coloration.

Carbon Black Water Slurry

UNI-POWDER’ s Carbon Black Water Slurry UNI-Carbon Black lique 5342. Based on a water-phase pre-dispersion structure design, it achieves high pigment content, low viscosity, and excellent flowability, significantly improving processing efficiency, formulation compatibility, and overall application performance.

01 Water Dispersion Performance: Rapid Dispersion and System Stability

When traditional carbon black powder is dispersed in water, it is prone to dusting and difficult to disperse. In contrast, UNI-Carbon Black lique 5342 can rapidly achieve uniform dispersion without additional stirring, exhibiting excellent flowability and dispersion stability in water.

02 Color Performance: Blackness and Coloring Power

Carbon black slurry was mixed with titanium dioxide slurry at a ratio of 1:79, and the blackness of the system was evaluated using a color difference meter.
The results show that although UNI-Carbon Black lique 5342 does not achieve the highest blackness value, its excellent dispersion system enables superior coloring power in practical applications, providing better application performance in different formulation systems.

Carbon black slurry

UNI-Carbon Black lique 5342 underwent a one-month stability test, during which all measured parameters showed no significant changes. The results demonstrate that 5342 possesses excellent structural stability and formulation compatibility under long-term storage conditions.

03 Recommended Application Formulation

An eyeliner formulation containing 30% UNI-Carbon Black lique 5342 Carbon Black Water Slurry:

Liquid eyeliner
Liquid eyeliner 1
Liquid eyeliner 2
Liquid eyeliner 3

Smooth ink flow: Delivers continuous and stable color output with smooth application, without obvious skipping or interruption.

Uniform coloration: Provides a rich and consistent black appearance with high line definition.

Long-lasting makeup performance: After sweat and sebum resistance tests, the makeup effect remains stable and is less prone to smudging.

Easy removal and cleansing: Can be removed using conventional makeup removers without obvious residue.

In the same base formulation, a comparison of the line drawing test (thick line) with commercial products shows that 5342 demonstrates excellent smoothness, uniform ink output, and stronger overall stability during the drawing test.

Eyeliner Line Drawing Test (Thick Pen)

In the fine line test, other commercial products are prone to sticking or line breakage, while 5342 consistently maintains good continuity and black intensity. In addition, the simulated pause drawing test demonstrates that even after the pen tip dries, 5342 can quickly restore writing performance after being rewetted with water, showing strong reusability.
